What Next Role Guide Does

Next Role Guide is an independent career research site for U.S. job seekers. We explain career-change paths, entry-level roles, certificate requirements, remote-work trade-offs, compensation, and relocation costs in plain language.

We are not a recruiter, training provider, financial adviser, or government agency. A guide can help narrow a decision, but it cannot confirm that an employer will hire you, that a credential transfers, or that a household budget will work.

How We Research

  1. Start with the decision - Each guide should answer the reader’s immediate question before adding background.
  2. Prefer primary sources - We use employer postings, program and licensing pages, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and other official government sources where the claim requires them.
  3. Separate estimates from offers - State wages, tuition ranges, and cost comparisons are planning inputs. A current job offer, provider quote, or official fee schedule is stronger evidence.
  4. Show the trade-offs - Time, eligibility, location, schedule, and total cost matter alongside headline salary.
  5. Correct outdated guidance - We update pages when a rule, benchmark, program requirement, or source changes.

Editorial Independence

Sponsored modules and affiliate links do not determine our conclusions. Where a page includes an interactive checker, its result is a planning aid and the assumptions are stated beside it.
